The church, together with its steps and enclosure, is protected. Opposite the inn, on the other side of the road, stands a statue of Saint Tekla, which is considered a protected cultural monument.

The straw tradition includes the annual creation of life-size hay nativity scenes during Advent. Every year, fairy-tale straw figures are also put up in Jakubov. The first “Slamáky” straw figures were created by a group of local enthusiasts in September 2005 along the I/38 international road.

Near Jakubov, northeast of the village, lie the two ponds Vidlák and Oráč. As early as the Middle Ages, Vidlák was one of the four ponds belonging to the small town of Jakubov.

Near Jakubov, the Jakubovská Riviera was established in 1931 as the “Plovárna Národní jednoty” at Vidlák Pond; it later became known as the Jakubovská Riviera. Swimming courses were held near Jakubov at the Jakubovská Riviera.

The construction of the inn was connected with the establishment of the route between Prague and Vienna via Jihlava and Znojmo. Jakubov Castle is first mentioned by name in 1354. The grounds of the former Jakubov Castle are now completely built up with single-family houses.

The Jakubovský mlýn has preserved only part of its original substance, as it was converted into workshops for an agricultural cooperative, particularly in the mid-20th century.
