Culture

The band of Leopold Kosmák is associated with the local musical history. It initially had eight members and was named “Kosmáci”.

A memorial plaque at Lesonice Château commemorates the serf uprising of 1775 on the Lesonice estate. A one-class school was established in the same château in 1890.

History

The peasant uprising on the Lesonice estate reached its climax on 25 and 26 July 1775. Thus, the information about the memorial plaque and the uprising refers to a precisely dated chapter in the history of the town.

Northwest of Lesonice, a forest covering 80 hectares lies in the former game preserve. It is marked by 44 memorial trees designated there. The game preserve was a recreational destination behind Lesonice.
