The Reimann Mining History Miniverse is an interactive exhibition space dedicated to the mining history of the Dorog Basin. The exhibition at the Reimann Miniverse can be explored independently or as part of a guided tour. At the Reimann Miniverse, visitors can use VR headsets and 360-degree footage recorded at real locations to gain insights into various mining methods and the demands of underground work.

The Dorogi József Attila Cultural Centre provides space for concerts, exhibitions and fairs, and hosts the Európa napi rendezvények, which have already become a tradition, on the first weekend of May, as well as Miners’ Day on the first weekend of September. The Dorogi József Attila Cultural Centre also has a four-lane skittles alley; skittles enthusiasts can use it during available time slots by prior arrangement and confirmation.

The Dorogi séta is a walking challenge that explores protected architectural heritage and the history of Dorog. The Dorogi séta begins and ends at the Reimann Mining History Miniverse. The Országos Kéktúra passes through Dorog and reaches the Aknatorony lookout tower.

History

Construction of today’s Dorogi Szent József Church began in 1767; it was consecrated in 1775. The Dorogi Szent József Church is a Baroque, monument-like church. The Aknatorony was built in 1981 as a shaft tower commemorating Dorog’s mining past.

Getting Around

At the Reimann Miniverse, there is an accessible parking space opposite the main entrance, on the Budapest-facing side of Esztergomi út; from the car park, visitors can reach the reception and exhibition area via a marked pedestrian crossing and then by lift. Dorog railway station is located directly on Otthon tér and lies on the Budapest-Nyugati–Esztergom railway line. The Dorogi József Attila Cultural Centre can be reached via Main Road 10, as well as from central Dorog via Mária utca and Köztársaság utca.
