The Kaszó State Forest Railway is an excursion experience in a varied natural landscape. It runs through the largest contiguous forest block in Inner Somogy, amid diverse woodland, the Baláta-tó nature reserve and a rich variety of wildlife.

History

Passenger services on the railway began on 17 May 1961 between Szenta and Kaszópuszta.

The Kaszó–Bojsza branch line and the main line were built between 1952 and 1955; at that time, the line was 17 km long.
