Nagyatád at a glance

The spa welcomes visitors all year round, and the open-air collection in Szoborpark can also be visited throughout the year. The Stations of the Cross are about 1,500 metres long and comprise 14 stations. In the town park at Széchenyi tér, you’ll find walking paths, benches and sculptures.

What outdoor and waterside activities are available?

The Stations of the Cross begin at the approximately 300-year-old Szentháromság statue in front of the church. In Nagyatád, the route winds through a natural setting along a hillside and a stream bank. At around 1,500 metres long, with 14 stations, it makes for a walk in its own right; the distinctive surroundings shape the route.

The tree-lined park at Széchenyi tér has walking paths and benches where you can relax. Sculptures are also part of the park’s character. Csónakázó-tó offers something different: it is mainly suitable for fishing, not swimming. In winter, people also go ice skating there.

Nagyatádi Termál és Gyógyfürdő has indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and massages. The spa welcomes visitors throughout the year. If you’re planning around specific operating details, check the operator’s latest information before your visit.

What culture and history can you discover?

Szent Kereszt Felmagasztalása Plébániatemplom and the Franciscan monastery form a protected monument ensemble in the Neo-Baroque style. The complex was built around the middle of the eighteenth century and is located at Széchenyi tér. Szent Rókus-kápolna, at the entrance to the town, tells a different story: Ferenc Czindery had the chapel built in the Baroque style in 1743.

The open-air collection in Szoborpark contains nearly 60 sculptures. The park at Széchenyi tér, by contrast, is also a tree-lined green space with paths and benches. If you’re interested in public art, the two places offer different perspectives, as they serve different purposes.

Since 2025, Városi Múzeum has been housed in T25. Its collection displays relics of the town’s history and memorabilia from Nagyatád’s heyday around the turn of the twentieth century. T25 also hosts art exhibitions and a memorial room dedicated to Bertók László.
