History and Surroundings

Astakhovka was established in 1907; the official date of its founding is recorded as January 30, 1908. The settlement was formerly called Baymyrza, after the nearby flat river, and the name Astakhovka is associated with the settlers’ former place of residence.

Transport and Infrastructure

Astakhovka and Astakhovka Station are located on the Almaty–Astana railway line. The station is situated on the Myrza–Shokai section. Nearby Aktau is crossed by a road route connecting Karaganda and Karkaraly.

In 2020, Agro-Duman sowed and harvested wheat on 3,347 hectares and grew barley on 148 hectares. Agro-Duman is recorded as having a total area of 6,315.8 hectares, including 4,735 hectares of arable land and 1,512 hectares of pastureland.

As part of district improvement works, a children’s and play area was established in Astakhovka.
