Location and Landscape
Comuna Șpring is located in the Podișul Secașelor in the southeast of Alba County. Floodplains extend along the watercourse that runs through the four associated villages. The municipality’s area belongs to the deciduous forest zone; oak, hornbeam, elm, lime and field maple trees are found there.

Culture and History
According to an inscription on the western portal, the towerless late Gothic church in Vingard was built in 1461; the inscription names Johannes Gereb de Vingard as the church’s patron. The church in Vingard features valuable stonework on the southern portal and western façade. The evangelical church in Vingard is listed in the cultural heritage register of Alba County under code AB-II-m-B-00391. The wooden church “Cuvioasa Paraschiva” in Vingard dates from the 18th century and was extended in 1820.
