Curtici is an important railway hub connecting Romania with Central and Western Europe.

Culture

The Orthodox church in Curtici was built in 1777 on the site of an older wooden church. The Catholic church building in Curtici was built in 1772. A late Baroque-style castle was built in Curtici for Andrei Kaszonyi in 1769.

The patron saint’s feast of the Orthodox church celebrates its holy patrons, the Apostles Peter and Paul. The festivities include a procession around the church. At the ā€œGheorghe Mocuțaā€ Cultural Centre, the celebration continues with a folk programme featuring songs and dances by the ā€œMugurașiiā€ folk ensemble from Curtici.

Literature and visual art are also represented through specific events: The ā€œPoezie pe cĆ¢mpieā€ poetry festival reached its fourth edition in 2026 and was held at the Curtici Cultural Centre on 5 June 2026. More than 60 competitors took part in 2026. In 2025, Curtici also hosted an exhibition by the painter Ghiță Mădărăsan featuring 57 works.

For your planning, architectural history, church traditions, poetry and painting can be considered as distinct cultural focuses alongside one another.

Everyday Life

Curtici has a weekly agro-food market, the ā€œPiața Agroalimentarăā€, with designated sales areas for producers. The market’s weekly schedule and the specific festival date refer to different points in time; you can take these details into account separately when planning your own trip.

Nature

The landscape around Curtici in the Western Plain is characterised by sand ridges formed by former branches of the Mureș and now stabilised by vineyards. The thermal baths in Curtici have pools supplied with geothermal water. In summer, the thermal bath with its thermal water is Curtici’s most important tourist attraction.

The landform and the thermal bath represent two different ways of viewing Curtici; when planning, you can assign separate importance to the natural setting and the thermal-bath theme.

Sport

Curtici’s sports complex includes the Frontiera 1929 Stadium, a sports hall and the associated sports facilities. It is open to everyone who wishes to engage in physical and recreational activities. Physical and cultural activities can be planned as separate focuses.

The topics mentioned differ clearly in their focus: Historic buildings and church events belong to architectural and cultural history, while the poetry festival and art exhibition document more recent cultural events. The weekly market represents local everyday life, the sand ridges and vineyards the landscape, thermal water wellness, and the sports complex physical recreational activities.

For a hotel in Curtici, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions can be considered as separate personal criteria. Depending on the planned period and desired focus, these details can be checked independently, while the town’s cultural, landscape, everyday-life and sporting themes can be incorporated separately into your travel planning.

Further destinations besides Curtici include Lipova, Old Pecica, Vinga, Ghioroc, Ineu, Căprioara, Şilindia and Vladimirescu.
