Moinești makes a distinctive cultural statement. The Tzara-DADA Monument was erected in memory of Tristan Tzara and consists of four letters (“D”, “A”, “D”, “A”), repeated inside and rotated by 90 degrees. They stand on a mosaic surface bearing the inscription “T-Z-A-R-A”. The monument is 25 metres long, 2.6 metres wide and 10 metres high, and weighs 120 tonnes.
Since February 2017, Moinești has been a spa resort of local tourist interest. Băi Park covers 33.75 hectares. The mineral springs in Băi Park were discovered in 1856. The city therefore combines cultural references with a historically documented spa tradition.
Culture
The Church of “Sf. Pantelimon” is part of the built cultural heritage. It is made of wood, has a shingle roof in the Transylvanian style of Maramureș and features a 19-metre-high tower. Its construction and tower clearly distinguish it, among the cultural sites mentioned, from the large-scale DADA monument.
Moinești’s Central Park is thematically associated with the DADA movement. The DADA motif therefore appears not only in a single monument, but also in the city’s park landscape. Together with the church and the exhibitions, this creates a cultural offering that places architecture, an art movement and regional history side by side.
History
A permanent exhibition established in 2011 in the central foyer of Moinești Town Hall presents digital reproductions of historical photographs relating to the history of oil extraction in the region. The historical focus is therefore on regional development and complements the more personal commemoration of Tristan Tzara.
The international symposium and the museum exhibition “Tristan Tzara and DADA Culture” are held annually at the Lira Cultural Centre in the city of Moinești. For personal daily planning, the permanent exhibition established in 2011 and the annual event date can be regarded as separate cultural occasions.
The places and activities described offer various focal points for a stay: urban culture, regional history, time in the park and outdoor exercise. These areas can be considered separately or combined, without the sights, exhibitions and trails mentioned prescribing a fixed order.
When planning a stay in Moinești, hotel pages can show travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions as separate details. This allows accommodation decisions to be made according to your own travel dates, while the cultural, historical and landscape-related themes can be selected independently.

Nature
The “Parc Băi” spa park is suitable for walking, sports and games, as well as relaxing outdoors. A tourist mountain hiking trail from Parcul Osoiu to the fortified settlement of Cetățuia is available. The two areas therefore differ in the type of activity they offer: the spa park provides several ways to spend time outdoors, while the mountain hiking trail forms a distinct route between the starting point and the fortified settlement.
The park on the southeastern slope of Dealului Osoiu has paved paths made of stone cubes, forest trails through a pine forest, two pavilions, and numerous seating and picnic areas. This provides both different path surfaces and designated areas for spending time in nature. Walking, exercise and taking a break can be understood as separate aspects of this park area.
