The stone wall “Valul de piatră de la Valu lui Traian” is located approximately 2 km south of the village of Valu lui Traian and is a registered archaeological monument classified as a defensive system. The Geamia of Valu lui Traian was founded in 1880.

Another chapter in the area’s history is associated with Constantin Pariano. In 1893, he settled in Hasancea, today’s Valu lui Traian in Constanța County, and acquired a 2,000-hectare estate there. In 1894, Pariano introduced horse racing to Dobruja; the first race took place on his estate in Hasancea.

Numerous pottery fragments were discovered at the Valu lui Traian Est 1 archaeological site, including everyday vessels and amphorae. Building materials such as roof tiles, hollow bricks and bricks were also found. Aerial and satellite images show anomalies that probably indicate groups of residential buildings with stone foundations.

Nature and Routes

The Valul Lui Traian nature reserve is located on the Medgidia Plateau in the northeastern part of Valu lui Traian, near National Road DN3, which connects Murfatlar with Constanța. It is a state-protected botanical reserve of national interest in IUCN Category III.
