Valea Rece – Culture, Nature and Trails
Nature
At the entrance to Valea Rece is Cascada Zogo (Iavardi), a waterfall about 10 m high. The water flows over rock, divided into several channels, characteristic of this volcanic mountain region. Thus, a striking waterscape and a geological landscape feature meet at this location.
The CR route runs through hay meadows and past haystacks; after 4.5 km, it passes Cascada Iavardi and then continues to Valea Rece. On the section between Bălan and Valea Rece, it is recommended for cycling tourism on forest roads, but it can also be covered on foot. The described route therefore combines open landscape, a named intermediate point, and different ways of getting around.
