Bánffy Castle in Boghiș was built in 1719, as indicated by an inscription on a roof beam.

Its last owner was the landowner Ketheli István, who sold the estate in 1925 when he fled.

The present-day building of Bánffy Castle in Boghiș houses a nursing home.
