Fălticeni between Art, Churches and Nada Florilor
Fălticeni combines a dense succession of art and memorial sites with historic churches, a versatile leisure complex and scenic spots in the immediate area and the wider region. The Muzeul de Artă „Ion Irimescu“ is considered Romania’s most extensive single-artist collection. The Muzeul Apelor „Mihai Băcescu“ focuses on scientific and educational content relating to the aquatic environment. The Casa memorială „Artur Gorovei“ is another memorial site in the city.

Art, Memorial Sites and Churches
The Galeria Oamenilor de Seamă opened on 16 June 1972 in a house donated by the writers Horia and Vasile Lovinescu. Together with the Muzeul de Artă, the Muzeul Apelor and the Casa memorială „Artur Gorovei“, it forms a distinct cultural focus in Fălticeni.
The city’s religious buildings include the Biserica „Sfinţii Voievozi - Grădini“, a historic monument dating from 1807. The present-day Biserica „Sfântul Proroc Ilie“ was built between 1842 and 1849. Among the city’s churches, the Biserica „Sfântul Ilie“ has the longest documented history. In the wider region are the Biserica Sfântul Dumitru, a church, and Mânăstirea Secu, a monastery. Also located in this wider regional area are the Biserica Ortodoxă Stroieşti and the Biserica Ortodoxă Trei Movile, both Orthodox churches.
Nada Florilor and Lacul Șomuz
The Nada Florilor leisure complex has four swimming pools, two fitness rooms, a sauna and a multifunctional sports field. These facilities therefore provide different forms of leisure and sports use at a named location. The facilities differ according to their function: the pools are for swimming, the fitness rooms for training, the sauna for relaxation and the sports field for sports. For swimming and sports facilities, current opening hours are part of the usual preparation for a visit. For leisure activities scheduled for specific times, current event times should also be checked before finalising the day’s plans. Parcul de Aventură „Nada Florilor“ opened on 12 April 2026.
Lacul Șomuz is used as a training base for rowing teams from Fălticeni and Suceava. More than 40 swans come to overwinter every year at the Nada Florilor pond. Sporting use, swimming and fitness facilities, as well as the recurring annual natural phenomenon, are therefore among Fălticeni’s explicitly mentioned water-related features.
Hills in the Surrounding Area
Dealul Spătăreşti and Dealul Ţărna Mare, both hills, are located in the immediate vicinity of Fălticeni. Dealul Bogata and Dealul Bogatei, also both hills, are located in the surrounding area. The two latter landscape features have different names and are independent points in the area around Fălticeni.
