Lozorno: Hotels near the Little Carpathians – Culture and Hiking

Lozorno is located near the western slopes of the Little Carpathians in the southern lowland of Záhorie. At the same time, the town is accessible via an interchange on the D2 motorway between Bratislava, Kúty and Prague.

Nature and trails

Several named mountains are located in the vicinity of Lozorno: Kozi Chrbet, Turecký Vrch, Somár and Tri Kamenné Kopce. The Malokarpatská cyklomagistrála is a long-distance cycling route. It runs through Lozorno between Plavecký Peter and Zohor.

Culture and history

The parish church in Lozorno was consecrated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria on 24 November 1630. Lozorno is also home to the Baroque Chapel of Saint Vendelín, dating from 1729. Near the church, the monument to the victims of the First World War commemorates 60 fallen soldiers from Lozorno.

The Museum of Historical Vehicles is located near the Lozorno Reservoir. It houses several fully restored cars and dozens of motorcycles from the same period. The museum is open to the public during vintage vehicle gatherings and exchanges.

There are also historical destinations in the surrounding area. The Pajštún, Dračí hrádok and Biely Kameň castles are located in the vicinity of Lozorno. In the wider regional surroundings of Lozorno lies Pezinský zámok Castle.

Crafts and events

Abeland is a village open to the public for traditional crafts and creative arts, featuring historical crafts and bread baking. Medieval programs for children take place there every year. Various cultural events focusing on permaculture are also held there.
