Nature and Landscape
A total of 283 bird species have been recorded in the Senianske rybníky in Sobrance District. The wetland is of great importance for biodiversity and numerous endangered plant and animal species.
The PR Lysá Nature Reserve in Podhoroď and Choňkovce protects rare forest and forest-steppe communities as well as an isolated occurrence of the Oriental oak (Quercus polycarpa).
The PR Lysák Nature Reserve in Remetské Hámre protects thermophilous beech-oak communities. The Oriental oak (Quercus polycarpa) and Dalechamps oak (Quercus dalechampii) grow there at an elevation of 821 m.
The PR Machnatý vrch Nature Reserve in Vyšná Rybnica preserves rare moss communities in acidic beech forests, including the endangered pipsissewa (Chimaphila umbellata). The PR Drieň Nature Reserve in Hlivištia protects forest and forest-steppe communities on andesite substrates with an abundant occurrence of the Cornelian cherry (Cornus mas).
The Beňatinský travertín Natural Monument protects the easternmost travertine outcrop in Slovakia. Travertine formation continues there to this day.

Water and Trails
Morské oko in Sobrance District is a 13 ha impounded volcanic lake at an elevation of 618 m. Malé Morské oko has a water surface area of 0.33 ha, a depth of 2.4 to 4 m, and no surface outlet.
The Morské oko–Sninský kameň section of the nature trail is 4 km long and leads from 618 to 1,005 m above sea level. The Vtáčím rajom nature trail in Sobrance District is 16 km long and has five observation towers.
Kaštielik Morské oko was built in 1924 on the shore of Morské oko as a place for recreation. It can be reached from a parking lot via a blue-marked hiking trail approximately 800 m long.
Culture and History
The Múzeum Na čiare documents life on the Slovak-Ukrainian border as well as the history of smuggling and people smuggling. The main section of the Múzeum Na čiare in Lekárovce is open to the public; visits must be arranged by telephone, and the guided tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
The Gitarové múzeum in Sobrance presents an exhibition featuring hundreds of guitars and thousands of objects from contemporary history. During guided experiential tours, visitors can try out many of the displayed instruments themselves.
The Greek Catholic wooden church in Ruská Bystrá is one of the listed wooden churches of the Slovak Carpathians.
Spas and Wine
Sobranecké kúpele is among the oldest spas in Slovakia. Its mineral springs are already mentioned in documents from 1336; five cold, slightly carbonated, hydrogen sulfide-containing, medium-mineralized sodium chloride springs rise there.
The Sobranecký wine-growing region has a long tradition of wine production. The nearby company REGIA TT, s. r. o., in Orechová produces high-quality varietal and vintage wines that have received awards at various wine exhibitions.
Geographical Location
The Vyšné Nemecké border crossing in Sobrance District crosses the state border into Ukraine.
