Nature

A green-marked hiking trail leads from the village of Jezersko to Jezerské Lake. The Jezerské jazero nature reserve was designated in 1967, covers 2.18 hectares, and lies in the southern part of the cadastral area, approximately 2 km southwest of the built-up area of Jezersko. This location specifically refers to the built-up area of Jezersko and not generally to the entire cadastral area.

Jezerské Lake was formed by a landslide. Its maximum depth is 7.5 m, while its usual depth is between 2 and 4 m. An educational hiking trail from Jezersko leads around Jezerské Lake to the ridge, the PANORAMA restaurant, and the Treetop Walk. This educational trail is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.

Winter sports

In the upper part of Jezersko, the Ski Bachledova ski area has 13 regularly groomed runs with a total length of 11 km. There are also four ski lifts and a four-seat chairlift in the upper part. The chairlift takes you to the ridge of the Spišská Magura; from there, you can continue to other ski slopes in the direction of Bachledova dolina, part of the municipality of Ždiar. Cycling route

A cycling route passes through Jezersko. It runs from Keheľ, between Reľov and Spišské Hanušovce, to the northern slopes of Bukovina in the Spišská Magura. The place names mark the route from its starting point to the northern slopes.

Culture and history

The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Jezersko was built in 1895. In 1611, a reeve’s charter granting the right to brew beer was issued in Jezersko to Šoltýs Christotor from Spišské Hanušovce. Historical sources mention Jezersko in 1590 as a manor farm or clearing site belonging to Nedecký Castle.
