Mlynčeky at the eastern foothills of the High Tatras

Mlynčeky is located in the Poprad Basin and at the eastern foothills of the High Tatras. The village stretches along the left bank of the Biela voda stream. Under the Slovak government regulation of 2026, Mlynčeky belongs to the protected zone of Tatranský národný park National Park. Its location along the stream is spatially distinct from its broader classification within the basin and at the foothills of the Tatras.

Mlynčeky was already known as a spa resort in 1896. A former water mill in Mlynčeky was converted into the holiday resort "Tatra ház". The church in Mlynčeky, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, was consecrated on 8 November 1970. The spa history belongs to the year 1896, while the church consecration took place in 1970. For those interested in culture, the spa, water mill and church represent specific themes of the village.

The marked Podtatranská cyklomagistrála passes through Mlynčeky. The route leads from Podbanské to Kežmarok and is 47.5 km long. The total length of 47.5 km is the fixed framework for planning the cycling route. A day plan can consider the complete connection as a cycling project in its own right. The two endpoints give the route a fixed direction. For day planning, the two routes can be considered as separate projects with their own time frames. When planning the day, the two distances result in different time frames for the cycling route and forest path.

The Kelerov chodník begins at the car park by the church in Mlynčeky. The path is 2 km long and follows a comfortable forest track with several rest areas and benches. Those planning the Kelerov chodník as a short walk can use the car park, the two-kilometre distance and the benches as fixed points of reference. The comfortable forest path and seating complement the mere distance with specific conditions along the way. The church remains the specific starting point of the path.

The 23rd edition of the recurring Tatranská pätnástka running event will take place in Mlynčeky on 14 June 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The programme of the 2026 Tatranská pätnástka includes a 15 km main race, a 4 km race for young people and children's races. The main race is set at 15 km, the additional race at 4 km; children's races round out the programme.

The "Memoriál Jožka Mačičáka" football tournament also takes place annually in Mlynčeky.

There are two ski lifts in Mlynčeky. The local mlyn-gym is also used by visitors to Mlynčeky. Bistro Gól provides food and refreshments in Mlynčeky.
