Hotel in Dobravlje – St Peter’s Church and the Dobravski tek

Today, St Peter’s Church stands alone in a field south of Dobravlje. It was built in 1641 in forms characteristic of local 17th-century architecture. Inside, it houses a small, museum-like collection of works by the Baroque painter Anton Cebej. In 1768, Anton Cebej painted the entire chancel of the church in Dobravlje.

The Tamburaški orkester Danica comes from Dobravlje and brings together adult amateur musicians from various villages in the upper Vipava Valley and its surrounding areas. The ensemble gives numerous performances every year and accepts invitations to perform as a guest in nearby and more distant places. Its public appearances therefore extend beyond its place of origin, while its connection to Dobravlje remains intact.
