Hudajužna combines a marked hiking route with historic sites and events in the Baška grapa. A specific starting point is the Dom krajanov Hudajužna, Hudajužna 22c: this is where the Bevkova pot begins, continuing to Zakojca and the Domačija Franceta Bevka.

Hiking

At Hudajužna, the Bevkova pot crosses the Bača over a bridge and then climbs along a gravel-surfaced forest path to Zakojca and the Domačija Franceta Bevka. The walk from Hudajužna to Zakojca takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes; the hike on the Bevkova pot is also stated to take about one and a half hours and is classified as easy. After the bridge, there is a wooden bus shelter built in an Alpine style with three information boards about the history of Hudajužna and nearby Obloke.

On the approach from the Dom krajanov to the Bevkova pot stands the Chapel of St. Barbara; there is an information board next to the chapel. The Chapel of St. Barbara in Hudajužna is part of the sacred cultural heritage of the Baška grapa. Thus, the described approach includes both a named starting point and a historic site with its own information.

Nature

Between Hudajužna and Koritnica, the Bača has created the Klonte Canyon. In the Zakojška Grapa, the Poreznica stream now serves as a fish-farming stream and as a breeding area for the pure Soča marble trout. The forest path through the Zakojška Grapa is not marked or maintained.

Culture

Hudajužna railway station is also part of the local history: it was completely destroyed during a partisan sabotage operation and rebuilt after the war in the style of that period. The Bevkovi dnevi event series takes place every year on the third weekend of September. Traditionally, it brings hikers from Hudajužna and Cerkno to Zakojca via three different routes. During the annual hike on the Bevkova pot, excerpts from the works of France Bevk are read along the way to Zakojca.

The Odmevi dediščine festival takes place annually. Its 2025 program included a lecture and a projection at the Dom krajanov in Hudajužna. Thus, in addition to the hiking route, there are also the railway station, the chapel, and recurring cultural events with a specific connection to Hudajužna.

Other routes
