Teslić – Thermal Waters, Nature and Hotels

For active outings, Teslić has a 2,500 m-long path through a pine forest for walking, running and cycling. Landscaped parks and walking paths have a combined length of 7 km. The “Track around Teslić” route is available as a GPS track with a free map. Teslić also has a ski slope.

Liplje Monastery is a medieval Serbian Orthodox monastery on the northern side of Mount Borja. It is located 25 km from Teslić and was first mentioned in the second half of the 15th century. Visitors can stay overnight in the konak of Liplje Monastery.

The wooden church in Vrućica, dedicated to the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, was reconstructed on the site of an earlier place of worship dating from 1642. It preserves four-century-old doors from the first church; the 370-year-old lock attached to them still works today.

Cicvara is a traditional dish from Teslić. It is prepared by stirring Blatnica cheese, butter and sometimes sour cream into boiling water. Geographically protected local cheese products are part of the tourist offering in the municipality of Teslić.

The Usora flows through Teslić and is known locally there as Velika Usora. Below the town, at Sastavci, it meets its considerably smaller left tributary, Mala Usora. From its source below the Očauš peak in the Borja mountain massif to its confluence above Doboj, the Usora is 82 km long.

The Usora is home to š्कobalj, klen, plotica, štuka and bjelica; trout are also found in its upper reaches.

The interior of the cave features stalactites, stalagmites, flowstone curtains and tufa pools. The walls display patterns of limestone deposits and mineral formations known as “Tiger Skin”.

In one cave, 450 m of illuminated paths have been set up for tourist visits.
