Discover Bosanska Krupa on the Una

The Gradska galerija Bosanska Krupa hosts exhibitions and preserves artistically or historically valuable material as part of the cultural heritage. It includes a permanent Boško-Karanović Foundation collection with 110 prints. These were declared national property and a monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina in March 2011.

The International Artists’ Colony Krušnica brings together artists from different generations and artistic disciplines and reached its 56th edition in 2026. Another site of historical significance is Stari grad Jezerski, which has been a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2003. Pset Fortress is an old fortress on a steep cliff above the Una.

The Museum – Memorial House of Reis Džemaludin ef. Čaušević displays photographs, original documents, books, personal belongings, and archival material. Dvorište Tri Sestre includes the Gradska džamija, as well as the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Church of the Most Holy Mother of God.

The Una and Krušnica are fish-rich rivers and offer excellent opportunities for fishing tourism. In the “BUK” fishing area, spinning and fly fishing with artificial lures are practiced; the catch-and-release principle applies there. The area stretches for approximately 2,000 m from “Himin buk” to the end of “Refkina ada”.

The Una’s river islands, known as ades, offer benches and opportunities for swimming. The area around the source of the Krušnica is suitable for relaxation, excursions, walks, and spending time in nature. The Šujnovac recreation area is located approximately 2 km from the town center and features a forest trail with benches, as well as gentle inclines and declines.

Rafting on the Una in Bosanska Krupa takes you through rapids, waterfalls, and calmer stretches of river. The zipline and adrenaline bridge cross the Una and its canyon at great height, offering views of the landscape.

Trips in the traditional boats of the Unski lađari allow visitors to experience the Una from the perspective of the region’s former inhabitants. The tradition of the Unski lađari in Bosanska Krupa has existed since 1977. The Bosanskokrupska-Una Regatta starts in Salihovac, pauses in the Una Canyon, and ends at Velika ada in Bosanska Krupa. Bosanska Krupa hosted the fifth traditional Bosanskokrupska-Una Regatta.

Bosanska Krupa has cycling trails through natural areas. The wooden bridges of Bosanska Krupa connect the banks of the Una with its river islands and make walks along the river possible.

Most places in Bosanska Krupa can be reached on foot; taxis and local bus routes are also available. A path next to the Gradska džamija Bosanska Otoka leads to several Una islands with sandy beaches, waterfalls, and rapids. The Gradska džamija Bosanska Otoka stands on an island in the Una and is connected to the other parts of Bosanska Otoka by two wooden bridges.
