Mali Radić – Cycling Route, Landscape and Hotels

The route of the Ljetna biciklijada led via Bosanska Krupa, Vranjska, Čardak, Gornja Suvaja and Mali Radić to the Šujnovac excursion site. It was 32 km long and included 17 km of gravel and 15 km of asphalt. The organizers rated it as challenging; in their assessment, it was not suitable for racing bikes. At the Šujnovac destination, the excursion site has a forest path with benches, suitable for walkers and featuring gentle ascents and descents.

The Grmeč mountain ridge, which ends at the cone-shaped Badnjevića hill at an elevation of 463 m, divides the Radić valley basin into Veliki Radić and Mali Radić. Zloimenjak is recorded in the local landscape at an elevation of 909 m. Between Zloimenjak and Obljaj, the local wind known as noćnjik begins after sunset. Each of the named landforms and the wind has its own local name, preserved in the area around Mali Radić.

Historically, the settlement of Mali Radić is divided into Kamenica, Obljaj and Ravna Dolina. The remains of Obala Castle are also preserved in the area around Mali Radić. Livestock farming and agriculture are considered sources of income in Mali Radić. In the areas reached by the local wind noćnjik, wheat is considered particularly good. Thus, the settlement structure, castle remains and agricultural activities stand alongside one another without having to be combined into a single attraction.

Municipal infrastructure is also part of the more recent development of the place: A municipal water supply project included Mali Radić as one of the Podgrmeč returnee villages and was intended to improve the supply of clean drinking water.
