In the southeastern part of the mountain lies Mišarica Cave, which serves as a habitat for a bat colony. Bjeljavina, or Ponir, also includes areas that are difficult to access and sections of almost untouched wilderness. At 589 metres, Ponir is listed as one of the low hills surrounding Banja Luka.

The mountains Lipovac, Glavića Vis and Osmača, as well as the summit of Stojičino Brdo, lie in the vicinity of Ponir. Lipovac, Glavića Vis and Osmača are mountains, while Stojičino Brdo is classified as a summit.

Hiking and Cycling

The Abonos mountaineering club has marked a hiking trail on Mount Ponir. The hiking trails in the Ponir area listed by Abonos are accessible year-round, although some are more difficult to reach in winter. Abonos offers hiking trails of varying lengths and difficulty there, ranging from easy routes for family outings to more demanding trails. Ponir is recommended for walks when little time is available; there are many trails of varying lengths.

Hiking and cycling trails run along the Zmajevac–Banj brdo–Ponir recreational route. A cycling shuttle tour passes Brdo Ponir as one of its starting destinations. The cycling offer at Brdo Ponir includes a moderately difficult gravel route through the forest with rapid changes in terrain, as well as an enduro trail with steep descents and technical sections for experienced cyclists.

Culture

Sveti Jakov is a church in the immediate vicinity of Ponir. The wider regional area also contains several historic sites: Kula is a fortress, Bočacgrad is a ruin site, and Tomaši is also a ruin site. Thus, in addition to Ponir’s landscape features, there are named cultural and historical sites in different regional contexts.
