Culture
The Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God in Ognyanovo is a three-nave, semi-subterranean pseudo-basilica. It was painted by Dimitar Molerov in the 19th century. Ognyanovo’s traditional patronal festival for the Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God is described as a two-day event held around 15 August; it includes concerts and wrestling matches.
The mineral baths of Ognyanovo are associated with the remains of an ancient Roman fortress. The ruins of Nicopolis ad Nestum are approximately a 15-minute drive from the mineral baths of Ognyanovo. Nicopolis ad Nestum is one of the few preserved ancient cities in Bulgaria and the only one in the Rhodopes dating from the Roman period.

The Ognyanovo–Leshten cycling route is 15.6 km long and is rated low in both technical difficulty and physical exertion. The Ognyanovo–Kovachevitsa mountain biking route is 27.4 km long, can start in Ognyanovo, and follows the Kanina Valley.
