Gorun: Hotels and Accommodations

The gorges between Shabla, Gorun and Poruchik Chunchevo contain priority subcontinental peri-Pannonian shrub communities. The rocky sea coast near Tyulenovo is 5 km from Gorun and attracts tourists as well as speleologists.

Lake “Shabla Liman” on the Black Sea coast is associated with tourism and fishing. Shabla Tuzla is a lagoon whose hydrogen sulfide-rich mud is used for mud treatments. The Shabla area is associated with rural, ecological, medical, cultural and hunting tourism.

The “Svoboda 1941” Community Cultural Center in Gorun was founded in 1941. Its building was constructed in 1959, and after an interruption, the center resumed its activities in 2008. The center’s library has a collection of 3,500 items.

The authentic folklore group Rosna Kitka from Gorun has received medals, plaques, diplomas and certificates for its performances. It takes part in regional and national festivals, as well as celebrations and initiatives related to the municipality’s cultural calendar.

The recreational project in Gorun included the installation of a pavilion. An environmental project created a recreation area and a children’s playground in Gorun.

Municipal road DOB1226 runs from Tyulenovo through Gorun and connects to National Road I-9. The reconstructed section of this road is 8,040 linear meters long; the reconstruction was commissioned on January 28, 2025.

Gorun offers guesthouse accommodations for visitors. Two accommodation establishments and twelve beds are registered for Gorun.

Restaurants in Shabla Municipality offer national cuisine and traditional local dishes.
