Katrandzhii: Hotels and Accommodation

Three cycling routes in the municipality of Dryanovo connect Dryanovo with Tsareva Livada, Docha, the Strinava Plateau and Dryanovo Monastery, as well as with Gostilitsa, Skalsko and Gesha; they are 10 km, 30 km and 6 km long. Culture

The Route of the Ancient Cultures in the municipality of Dryanovo includes a guided visit to Bacho Kiro Cave. Dryanovo Monastery is included in Bulgaria’s list of 100 national tourist sites.

History

The Dryanovo Eco Trail leads to the remains of the Roman, Byzantine and medieval Bulgarian fortress of Boruna. Near Gostilitsa stood the Roman road station of Discoduratera on the route from Nove via Nicopolis ad Istrum to Augusta Traiana. The area around Dryanovo Monastery and Bacho Kiro Cave offers starting points for hiking trails to Bozhentsi, Gesha and Ritlya.

Accommodation

Guest House Kamelia has a 36-square-metre tavern with a dining table for 12 people and a spacious veranda overlooking the Balkan Mountains. It is described as accommodation for eight people in four double rooms, with an option for two additional guests, and as a year-round accommodation option.

Guest House Vanina is described as a renovated chorbadzhi house dating from 1892. It has a tavern and a fully equipped kitchen furnished in the style of a traditional household, as well as views towards the peaks of the Stara Planina.
