Hiking
A marked trail to the Arda Spring begins in Bilyanska. From the spring, a marked trail continues to Ardin Peak. The Arda Spring and Ardin Peak are located in a border zone; visitors are advised to carry identification and stay on marked trails. It is possible to drive as far as the end of the paved road in Bilyanska and then continue on foot along a marked trail. The walk to the Arda Spring takes about one hour.
Nature
The main source of the Arda River is located near Bilyanska. In the surrounding area, seventeen smaller springs also contribute to the Arda. The Arda Spring is one of seventeen springs that form the beginning of the river. At the Arda Spring, water emerges beneath a large beech tree.
Mountain Landscape
The marked trail to the Arda Spring passes through broad meadows with views towards Gorna Arda, Bilyantsi, Mount Kom, and Great Perelik Peak. From Ardin Peak, visitors can see both the Bulgarian and Greek parts of the Rhodopes.
Along the Way
An annual tourist gathering takes place at the Arda Spring on the third Saturday in August. The spring area has designated fire pits, pavilions, and a shelter for picnicking and resting.
