Madzhare: Hotels and Accommodation

Madzhare is located in Lakatiska Rila on the Iskar, in a mountainous landscape at an altitude of approximately 1,000 metres; those wishing to book a hotel in Madzhare can then continue their accommodation search.

Nature

The Central Rila Reserve begins a few kilometres above Madzhare. It is described as Bulgaria’s largest reserve and one of the largest in Europe. Golyamata livada is located in the area around Madzhare; Krasta is also situated in this area. Arnautski vrah and Tapankovitsa are likewise located in the vicinity of Madzhare.

Culture

The Church of the Ascension in Madzhare, commonly called St Spas, is designated as an immovable cultural asset of local significance in the fields of architecture, construction and art.

Madzhare is described as an access point to the Seven Rila Lakes via Govedartsi and the Lakatitsa area.

Hiking Trails

The Zornitsa eco-trail features new wooden bridges and six handcrafted story figures; the route ends at a chapel above Madzhare.
