Zvekovica: Hotels and accommodations

The 50-kilometer Dubrovnik–Vitaljina section of EuroVelo 8 reaches Zvekovica at kilometer 18. In addition, the Cavtat–Zvekovica–Miljasi cycling route is designed as a circular route. Those wishing to book a hotel in Zvekovica can then continue their accommodation search.

Culture and history

In the municipality of Konavle, the Ćiro railway operated from 1901 to 1968. Remains of railway stations, platforms, tunnels, and bridges have been preserved along the route. Fort Sokol was an important fortress of the Republic of Dubrovnik at the mountain pass leading toward the Bosnian hinterland. Fort Sokol and the churchyard of Our Lady of Sokol offer views across Konavle.

Nature

The lower mill system on the Ljuta was built after 1550 and has been preserved to this day. The source and upper course of the Ljuta are protected as a nature park, while the watermill is protected as a cultural monument.

Culinary delights

OPG Brajković serves local dishes, wines, and olive oil in the cellar of its old family home. Rural households and taverns in Konavle serve traditional dishes made from home-grown ingredients, along with homemade liqueurs, olive oil, and local wines.
