Staza Sedam slapova is a 15-kilometre hiking trail of moderate difficulty with an estimated duration of five hours. A steep section of the Seven Waterfalls Trail climbs 100 metres in less than one kilometre and is secured with steel cables. Staza Sedam slapova is described as moderately difficult.

As a loop trail, Staza Sedam slapova leads from Buzet near the Istrian Water utility company via Selca, Glistonija, Kuhari and Kotli back to Buzet. The trail information states that hikers use it at their own risk. The Seven Waterfalls Trail starts in Sveti Ivan; a free car park next to the Istrian Brewery is recommended.

The 263 Oprtalj–Čepić Trail is a 19.4-kilometre trail of moderate difficulty with a stated duration of six hours and thirty minutes. It leads through fields and small forests towards Sveti Ivan before returning to Sveta Lucija. The Put Biske hiking trail begins in Buzet (Sv. Ivan) and runs via Sv. Križ, Cunj, Glistonija and Šćaveti to Hum.

Cycling

Sveti Ivan is the starting point of the official cycling route 509 Put Biske, a 25.22-kilometre loop trail of moderate difficulty via Hum and Kotli. The route includes 7 kilometres of asphalt and 19.3 kilometres of gravel. The 510 Rome Trail descends towards Sveti Ivan, passes under the viaduct and continues to Buzet bus station.

Culture and Tradition

The Church of Saint John the Baptist in Sveti Ivan was built in 1634. It has three masonry altars with wooden retables; the main altar contains wooden statues of John the Baptist, John the Evangelist and Saint Michael. The Church of Saint Mary Magdalene in Sveti Ivan was built in 1325 and has a bell tower without bells.

Igra na ruh is a centuries-old horn-throwing game played along the road between Sveti Ivan and Most. According to local tradition, Igra na ruh began when millers reconciled after a long dispute over the water used to operate their mills. The Svetiivanjske mačkare continue a centuries-old carnival tradition.
