Zvonejske Njivi are dry-stone terraces created between the 15th and 17th centuries over approximately 60 hectares near Zvoneća. In 1994, they were entered into the Register of Protected Cultural Heritage Sites.

The Lipa Remembers Memorial Centre is located at Lipa 35, Šapjane. Lipa is also home to the Lipa Remembers Memorial Center, a branch collection of the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral in Rijeka. The Lipa Remembers memorial event takes place every year on April 30 to honor the victims and commemorate the crime of 1944.

The Matulji railway station is considered one of the most picturesque buildings of its kind in the surrounding area and is a place where visitors can experience the early tourism traffic to the Opatija Riviera.

Local Traditions

In the municipality of Matulji, Jarbola is an indigenous grape variety that has been cultivated in the Zvoneća area for more than 100 years. Route 117 stretches for 30 kilometers and has a total elevation gain of 560 meters; it passes through Lisina toward the terraces of Zvonejske Njivi.

Events

The Matulji Summer Festival features musical concerts, theater productions, and other events. The Matulji Amphitheatre hosts concerts and theater performances. The Matulji Bell Ringer's Gathering takes place on Carnival Saturday. The Bell-ringers Parade has been held in Matulji since 1995 and showcases the full spectacle of the local bell-ringing traditions.
