Mihotići: Hotels and Accommodation

Mihotići is located on the official Sv. Luka hiking trail. The trail leads through Matulji, Osojnaki, Trtni, Mihelići, Mohorići, Biškupi and Rukavac, then reaches Mihotići on the road toward Mount Učka and returns to Matulji.

Culture and History

Mihotići is home to the protected ethnological building of high value known as “Žaničini” at Put Perinovo 18; “Guć” and “Cepovi” are listed in the village as ethnographic sites. The old settlement centre of Mihotići is protected as an ambient unit subject to special conditions for reconstruction.

Those travelling from Matulji to the Zvončarska muzejska zbirka take the road toward Učka and turn right at the Mihotići junction toward Rukavac. Near Mihotići are the statue “Maiden With The Seagull” by Zvonko Car, Veliki Orjak, Beljač, Veprinac vrh, Crni Vrh, as well as “Župna crkva Navještenja Blažene Djevice Marije”. In the surrounding area of Mihotići are Trsatska Gradina and Sveti Matej.

The Mihotići mosaic was inspired by a folk tale about the origin of the settlement’s name. It was created as part of the Matulji “Mozaik” art studio project by seventh-grade students.

Events

The Brežanski bell-ringers’ route leads from Bregi via Frančići and Mihotići to part of Rukavac and then returns via Mihotići and Frančići. The route is around twenty years old and developed from a friendly gathering into a tradition.

The Mučići bell-ringers’ procession takes place on Pusna nedjelja. The 18-kilometre procession visits Mihotići as part of its circular route through Kastavština.
