Culture

In Matulji, Mučići is home to one of the Zvončari groups. The Zvončari of Mučići wear hats decorated with colorful crepe-paper flowers. The tradition of the Mučićevi zvončari includes a procession on Carnival Sunday; on the penultimate Sunday of Carnival, the procession of the Brgujski zvončari and maškare passes through Mučići.

The oldest recorded photograph of the Brgujski zvončari was taken in Mučići in 1921. The Bell-ringers Parade has been held in Matulji since 1995; it showcases the groups’ circle dances, movements, costumes, and musical accompaniment. Approximately forty adults and children took part in a procession of the Mučićevi zvončari in February 2026.

Ceramics

The ISA exhibition space in Mučići hosts exhibitions by the InterInova ceramics association. The InterInova association, located at Mučići 46, works with traditional techniques for firing clay as well as contemporary clay design. The exhibition “Zvončari i keramika,” featuring 19 artists and the Romolo Venucci ceramics group, was shown at the ISA exhibition space in Mučići. InterInova also held the “Buongiorno ceramica - Dobar dan keramika” workshop in Mučići on making clay and ceramic objects.

Trails

The Matulji Bike & Hike network associated with Mučići offers 150 kilometers of cycling and hiking trails on ten circular routes. It includes an itinerary connecting Žejane, Brešca, Mučići, and Jušići, as well as a choice between routes through forests or picturesque settlements.
