Klenovica: Hotels and Accommodation

Fishing and Culture

The Fishermen’s House Klenovica interpretation centre stands on the waterfront in the centre of the village. It was formerly used by members of the first fishing cooperative, Udarnik.

The permanent exhibition at Fishermen’s House Klenovica includes artefacts collected by local fishing families and scale models. Multimedia displays present the history of fishing in Klenovica.

There is a monument to a living fisherman in the harbour of Klenovica.

Restored tuna lookout towers, known as tuneras, symbolise the hard lives of fishermen and seafarers in Klenovica.

One restored tunera is located on the islet of St. Anton.

The islet of St. Anton appears to be a peninsula because local residents built a causeway out of massive rocks.

The Church of Saint Margaret stands in Klenovica on a hill just below the Adriatic coastal road. It was built in 2003 and is named after Saint Margaret, the patron saint of Klenovica.
