Svinišće: Hotels and Accommodation

The parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Svinišće was built on the Brus Plateau in 1897 and consecrated on 30 October 1900. The present parish church stands on the site of an older church, which was probably built in the 15th century. Svinišće was formerly called Vinišće; this name apparently appears for the first time in historical sources in 1315.

History and Culture

Archaeological evidence is also associated with the village: Brstilova Cave in Svinišće is identified as a Neolithic archaeological site, while Dovnica in Svinišće is identified as a prehistoric mound.
