Culture and History

In the center of Černíky, next to a small pond, stands the Chapel of Saint Wenceslas. It stands on the landscaped area of the village square and is a Baroque sacred building dating from 1760. It was built in 1760 at the expense of the farmer Václav Kadeřávek. The protected monument comprises the chapel and the associated land.

The farm building at Černíky No. 1 also features a historic detail: its courtyard façade contains a collection of late Gothic surrounds from door and window openings.

Geology

The Kounice–Černíky geological locality lies in the cadastral area of Černíky. The Czech Geological Survey lists it as an interesting geological locality. It is a disused wall-stone quarry in clay shales and siltstones of the Štěchovice Group of the Barrandian Neoproterozoic.

Village and Cultural Landscape

Despite later structural changes, Černíky has preserved the scale and character of a typical village in the Elbe Lowland. The relationship between the built-up area and the surrounding cultural landscape remains clearly recognizable.

Cycling Event

The Kounická šlapka cycling race passes through Černíky. Its program includes a children’s race before the adult race.
