The Skanzen Solvayovy lomy open-air museum can be reached from Bubovice via a flat route of approximately 2 kilometers that takes around 20 minutes. The route is initially marked as a yellow hiking trail with a hammer symbol and leads along a dirt track to the quarry. The museum is dedicated to limestone extraction and transport in the Bohemian Karst and was established in a disused limestone quarry known as U Paraplete and Na stydlých vodách.

Culture and history

The builder of the Chapel of St. Adalbert was the Svatojánský abbot Emilián Koterovský; he commissioned Kryštof Dientzenhofer to design and build the chapel. Its ruins are considered a notable example of small-scale sacred architecture in Bohemia and were declared a cultural monument in 2016.

Trails and educational paths

The Dendrologická stezka Bubovice dendrological educational trail has one station and is designed for a visit lasting approximately one hour. A gravel path of approximately 1.5 kilometers leads from Bubovice to this educational trail.

Nature and landscape

The cadastral area of Bubovice is also included in the Karlštejn National Nature Reserve. The Karlštejn National Nature Reserve is a large forested landscape divided by the valleys of the Budňanský, Bubovický, and Loděnice streams, featuring geological profiles, paleontological sites, and above-ground and underground karst formations. In 2000, the Karlštejn National Nature Reserve was awarded the Council of Europe Diploma for Protected Areas; the award was renewed in 2020. The wetland restoration area lies in the floodplain of the Bubovický stream below Bubovice, within the Český kras Protected Landscape Area and the Karlštejn National Nature Reserve.

The Bubovický dub oak was designated a memorial tree in 1986. Bubovický dub is a 240-year-old pedunculate oak measuring 20 meters in height and 375 centimeters in trunk circumference; these figures were measured in 2009. In the vicinity of Bubovice, in the Čeřinka quarry, lies Arnoldka, which at 111 meters below the surface is considered the deepest known cave in Bohemia.

In the vicinity of Bubovice, the Bubovický stream features cascading waterfalls that are particularly impressive in winter, spring, or after rainfall; in dry years, they may remain without water for longer periods. In the vicinity of Bubovice, the Bubovice Waterfalls are most easily reached from Srbsko via the blue-marked hiking trail.

The wetland is intended to function as a periodic habitat, filling with water after autumn rains, spring snowmelt, or heavy rainfall and potentially drying out completely during drier periods. Restoring the wetland helps expand a habitat suitable for the life and reproduction of amphibians.
