Chaloupky: Hotels and accommodations

The Záskalská Reservoir borders Chaloupky and also serves as a fire reservoir. In the vicinity of Chaloupky, Jindřichova skála is a natural monument in the Brdy region, featuring a rock face up to 21 meters high.

Walks in the Brdy region are among the leisure activities associated with Chaloupky. The surrounding forests are used for mushroom picking in autumn. Swimming and sport fishing are possible leisure activities at the Záskalská Reservoir.

Trails and seasons

In the vicinity of Chaloupky, a marked hiking trail leads from Malá Víska to a viewpoint at Jindřichova skála. From there, the ruins of Valdek Castle can be seen. Another connection with the village is the 17 km-long hiking route “Za pány z Valdeka,” which begins and ends in Chaloupky.

The Stezka okolo Komárova is mentioned as an excursion route in connection with Chaloupky. In the surrounding area, cross-country skiing and other winter sports are among the activities pursued in winter. Chaloupecká stopa is a local tourism event held annually.

History and townscape

The first written mention of Chaloupky dates back to 1648. At that time, the settlement was called “Chalupy za Skalou”; this name and the names of its first inhabitants are recorded in the tax register compiled between 1648 and 1656.

The ruins of Valdek Castle and the imposing sea of rocks beneath them offer a beautiful view of the deep valley of the Červený potok and the opposite rock faces of Jindřichova skála. A parking lot is available in Neřežín for visits to the ruins of Valdek Castle. The Neřežín district is also home to four particularly valuable log houses.
