Buková U Příbramě: Hotels and Accommodation

The blue-marked Komárov–Jince–Buková u Příbramě–Rosovice hiking trail passes the local château; the three-winged, two-storey building with a mansard roof acquired its present appearance in 1751, when an older manor house was rebuilt. It is not open to the public. Buková u Příbramě was first mentioned in 1336 as the seat of the lords of Buková.

The chapel dedicated to Saint Sigismund stands in the circular village centre and was built in 1888; its altar dates from the second half of the 18th century. In the upper part of the village is the small U sv. Jana Chapel, where May devotions are held. There is also a Baroque wayside shrine at the crossroads between Buková, Pičín and Rosovice.

The “Do Pičína” cycling route leads via Malá Buková to Buková u Příbramě; in the village, you can visit the Čechova Stodola educational attraction. It is open year-round and features four themed exhibitions throughout the year. From May to October, it presents “Staré pověsti české”, an exhibition with large pictures and figures, accompanied by stories about the individual legends during the tour.

An annual Christmas tradition in Buková u Příbramě is “Jesličky”, whose age is estimated at around 100 years. Shepherds, angels and devils still go from house to house as part of the tradition. The event ends at around 10 p.m. at the chapel with Christmas carols and a gathering of the residents.

The Sychrovský Brook crosses the municipality from west to east and flows into the Vackov Pond. The smaller Dražský Pond lies next to Vackov Pond in the area of Buková u Příbramě. Forests cover nearly 55 % of the cadastral area, a total of 427 hectares. Buková u Příbramě can be considered a gateway to the Brdy forests. A green local hiking trail leads from Buková towards the Partisan Monument.
