Solenice: Hotels and Accommodation

The Orlík Dam attracts water sports and sailing enthusiasts in particular. The Naučná stezka Solenice educational trail leads through Solenice and along a section of the Vltava below the Orlík Dam; it focuses mainly on water management, history and the local natural environment.

The Yacht Club Solenice is a sailing club at the Orlík Dam. Its practical sailing courses take place on the Orlík Reservoir and begin at the base in the Povodí Vltavy Kameny Camp between Podskalí and Trhovky. Anyone can register for the Kameny summer camp and try sailing on dinghies. The Kameny sailing camp dates back to a racing training camp held in 1974. The Yacht Club Solenice was founded on 19 October 1974 as “Jachetní oddíl Solenice” within TJ Solenice.

The power plant inside the Orlík Dam can be visited as part of an excursion by prior reservation.
