Charvatce: Hotels and Accommodation

Charvatce is home to the Charvatce lookout tower, a 14-metre-high metal observation tower built in 2020 and fully clad in larch boards. It has a covered viewing platform offering panoramic views of the entire municipality. A spiral metal staircase leads up to the platform, reaching a height of 12 metres.
Nature and Water
A paved path runs along the dam of VelkĂ˝ ZáhumennĂ˝ rybnĂk from road II/275 on the edge of Charvatce. VelkĂ˝ ZáhumennĂ˝ rybnĂk plays an important role in water retention and serves as a refuge for animals. In summer, it is used for swimming.
Getting Around Charvatce
Several cycling routes pass through the built-up area of Charvatce. The village can only be reached by private car or public bus.
For Children and During Celebrations
There is a newly built children's playground in the lower residential area of Charvatce. During the local Easter clapper tradition, children are taken to KvÄ›tnĂk, where the custom begins. Before Christmas, a traditional gathering with Christmas carol singing around a lit Christmas tree was held in Charvatce. On 2 September, a children's day was held in Charvatce to mark the end of the summer holidays; around 30 children from Charvatce and the surrounding area took part. In April, a traditional Easter HodovaÄŤka was held in Charvatce.
History and Name
The first surviving written mention of Charvatce dates from 1382; it names Arnošt z Charvatec as the owner of the estate. The name Charvatce is associated with the Slavic tribe of the Charváti.
