Družec: Hotels and accommodations

At the eastern edge of Družec’s built-up area lies Pod Veselovem, a protected natural monument safeguarding a site of the dark violet pasqueflower (Pulsatilla pratensis nigricans). The Povodí Kačáku Nature Park also stretches through Družec along the corridor of the Loděnice stream.

Culture and history

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is the oldest building in Družec. Between 1688 and 1690, it was rebuilt in the Baroque style into its present form. Near the church in the center of Družec stands a column with a statue of the Virgin Mary.

Near the church entrance, by the cemetery wall, stands an approximately life-sized, irregularly shaped sandstone block called the družecký Zkamenělec. The old, legendary Gothic wooden statue of the Virgin Mary with the Infant Jesus was associated with annual pilgrimages and processions.

On the road to Doksy stands a statue of Saint Peter of Alcantara, approximately 60 meters from the cemetery. It is the only one of the four statues of saints that once stood in Družec and the surrounding area that has survived to this day.

Paths and viewpoints

Družecká kalvárie, also called U tří křížů, is a viewpoint on a rocky promontory above the Loděnice stream, also known as Kačák. A path approximately 500 meters long leads there from Družec village square; it is initially paved and grassy at the end.

At the highest point of Družecká kalvárie stand three crosses side by side; they commemorate the crucifixion of Christ and the victims of the plague who died at the beginning of the 19th century.

The Družec–Doksy route is a shared path for cyclists and pedestrians. The Družec–Doksy cycle path is separated from motor traffic. The Družec–Doksy connection is suitable for families with children.

On May 23, 2026, the 34th edition of the Družecká šlápota tourist hiking march took place in Družec.
