Žáky: Hotels and accommodations

Žáky Castle is a massive, multi-storey building with a rectangular ground plan and a five-sided, four-storey tower at the northwestern corner. Its western façade faces a park; a plaque bearing the year 1611 is located at the main entrance. The complex includes a perimeter wall with gates. Žáky was first mentioned in 1407 and remained the property of Sedlec Monastery until 1540.

Location

Žáky and Štrampouch lie along the Čáslav–Zbýšov–Ledeč nad Sázavou road. The ruins of the Štrampouch windmill stand on a rise in the northern part of the village. Its cylindrical masonry body has two opposite windows on the upper floor with collapsed arched tops.

Nature

When entering the area around Jordán Pond, the provisions of the operating rules and the operator’s instructions apply. Fishing at Jordán Pond is carried out exclusively on a “catch and release” basis and is only possible by prior arrangement with the operator.

Kačina Chateau is located in the surroundings of Žáky. Mount Krkanka is also located nearby. The Church of St. George is situated in the wider regional surroundings of Žáky; Mount Ostojovka [Ledeč nad Sázavou-Souboř], Mount Bučina, and Mount Hořánck are also located there.
