Hradiště: Hotels and Accommodation
In Hradiště, a church with a medieval predecessor tower, an archaeological site above the Blanice, and a historically evolved landscape come together.
Culture and History
The Church of the Holy Trinity is the oldest building in Hradiště. It was rebuilt in 1767 on a cruciform plan; the tower of an older, probably medieval church was used for this reconstruction. A stone tablet bearing the year 1606 and three carved coats of arms is set into the tower.
The Hradiště archaeological site is classified as a settlement, church site, hilltop settlement, and fortification, and is designated as an important archaeological locality. Surface finds include ceramics from the 11th to the 16th century; some fragments may also date from the 10th century. The site lies on a narrow, elongated spur of land with rocky slopes above the left bank of the Blanice and a small tributary. Its area is 40 to 50 metres above the river. The fortified site near Hradiště gradually lost its military and strategic importance and fell into ruin.
The historic long-distance route Vitorazská is also part of the region's history: it ran along the Blanice through the central Posázaví region and continued via Český Šternberk to Kouřim.
Landscape and Nature
The Vlašimská Blanice Site of European Importance encompasses the Blanice River between Vlašim and Mladá Vožice. It protects the brook lamprey (Lampetra planeri), the hermit beetle (Osmoderma eremita), the thick-shelled river mussel (Unio crassus), and the Eurasian otter (Lutra lutra).
Along the Blanice there are floodplain forests, wet meadows, and stands of tall sedges in some places. The natural character of the river provides a habitat for numerous animal and plant species that have become rare or are rare in the surrounding landscape.
In the immediate vicinity of Hradiště are Velký Blaník, a mountain, and the hills Dub [Kondrac-Dub] and Na Homolce [Kondrac]. In the surrounding area are Žebrák, a mountain, and Loreta, a church. In the wider regional surroundings of Hradiště are Konopiště, a chateau, and Svatý Jan, a church.
