The ruins of Kožlí Castle are located in the cadastral area of Tisem, on a rocky promontory above the confluence of the Tisem stream and the Janovický stream. In Tisem, the quarry is considered a well-known and popular natural attraction.
Culture and History
The history of Tisem is closely linked to the church in Chvojen and Kožlí Castle. Kožlí Castle dates back to the 14th century and was first documented in 1318.
The protected area of Kožlí Castle includes the castle core, the outer bailey, a chapel, and the grounds of the site. The access route to Kožlí Castle leads through the outer bailey; the castle core is separated by a ditch carved into the rock and was accessible through a square gate.
Activities
A cycling route leads from Neveklov via Tisem to the ruins of Kožlí Castle. Horse competitions are held annually in Tisem under the name Hubertova jízda. The Tisem Cup football tournament is also held there every year.
