Kanina is situated on a plateau above the morphologically diverse area of Kokořínský důl and above the Vrbodol Valley. It protects sandstone terrain with gorge-like valleys, rock terraces, small rock towns and weathering formations such as the Pokličky.

Kanina is a designated access point to the Kokořínský důl climbing area. In the “Skály v Kočičině a Vrbodole” climbing area, climbing is permitted year-round within designated polygons.
Culture and Village Character
High-quality buildings of rural folk architecture have been preserved in the historic centre of Kanina. The Kanina water tower, dating from the early 20th century, is an unusual example of the architecture of such water supply facilities.
Event
Country Kaninafest is an annual gathering of music groups performing Czech and American country and bluegrass music.
