Culture and History
The U Křížku memorial commemorates a former plague burial site where a large wooden cross was erected in 1756. It was formerly called “Na hrobích” and is documented in surviving parish records from Chvatěruby.
The column featuring a group of figures representing the Holy Trinity is topped by a stylized Staroboleslavské Palladium and dates from the period after 1726. It is flanked by statues of Saint Francis Xavier and Saint Roch; both saints appear at similar monuments as patrons invoked in times of the threat of plague.
Kozomín’s Dřevěná zvonička is a wooden bell tower made from a roughly squared beam on a concrete base, with a conical roof. The original bell dates from 1842 and is kept at the municipal office; a copy is located at the site. Since 2006, Kozomín’s Dřevěná zvonička has been listed among the cultural monuments.
