Klíčany: Hotels and Accommodation

Klíčany is located approximately 14 kilometers north of the center of Prague and approximately 19 kilometers west of Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav. The town lies in a typical agriculturally oriented area; its first written mention dates back to 1380.

History and Buildings

The oldest surviving structure in Klíčany is a bell tower dating from 1774. The Baroque chapel of Klíčany also dates from 1774. It stands in a small park, has a triangular gable on its facade, and is topped by a prismatic bell tower.

Memorial Sites

The memorial to the victims of the First World War stands in Klíčany on Hlavní Street, next to the main road from Zdiby to Postřižín. The inscription on the memorial commemorates the liberation and the fallen soldiers. The Josef Cerha memorial is also located on Hlavní Street; it records his death on May 7, 1945.

Connections

The D8 motorway and the II/608 road run through the cadastral area of Klíčany. Prague suburban transport connects Klíčany with the capital. Bus routes 370 and 372 provide the connection between Kobylisy, Zdiby, Klíčany, and Odolena Voda.

Cycle route 8267 connects Zdiby-Přemyšlení, Klecany, Klíčany, Panenské Břežany, and Odolena Voda-Dolínek.

The TJ Klíčany football field is located at Sokolská 97 in Klíčany. TJ Klíčany has four football teams – from the men's team and youth teams to the youngest preparatory team.
