Klučov: Hotels and Accommodation
History and Archaeology
The Hradiště Na Ptáčku archaeological site is located on a prominent spur rising immediately above the southeastern edge of the built-up area. The Slavic hillfort was established in the mid-8th century on a rocky outcrop above the Šembera stream. It covered 1.6 hectares and was surrounded by three rows of palisades and a ditch. During the Hussite Wars, the site was used to establish a field camp. The extensive remains of the fortification lines are not visible in the terrain today.
The oval Klučov water fortress measures 58 × 32 m and is surrounded by a moat 6 to 22 m wide. Its existence is documented by an archaeological find dating from around the 13th century. An oval island measuring up to 58 × 32 m remains from the vanished Klučov Castle; it is surrounded by a muddy moat 6 to 22 m wide.
Winegrowing
The vineyards in Klučov cover a total of 5.4 hectares and are spread across three sites; their establishment began in 2017. Vinařství Klučov offers a guided tasting of eight wines from the Klučov vineyards. By arrangement, it also hosts private wine tastings for groups of eight or more.
