The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas is located directly on the village square in Kly. Its rear section features a colorful relief based on a design by Mikoláš Aleš. The chapel was built in 1886.
Nature
The Úpor–Černínovsko Nature Reserve is located directly within the municipality of Kly and includes a former river arm and pools from the former course of the Elbe. The area comprises natural eutrophic waters, muddy riverbanks, wet tall-herb vegetation, floodplain meadows, extensively mown meadows, pioneer vegetation on silicate rocks, and mixed ash-alder floodplain forests.
Culture and History
The Starý labský jez, or Old Elbe Weir, lies on the southern edge of Obříství but belongs to the cadastral area of Kly. The protected technical monument was completed in 1912. The original pillars have been preserved; the Swarzer structure was dismantled and the movable bridge was raised.
The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Záboří was built in 1884 as a single-nave Neo-Renaissance structure. It has a single-nave body, a transept, and a semicircular apse.
Routes and Events
Cycle Route 0024 passes through Kly and runs along the Stará Boleslav–Neratovice–Kly–Mělník–Brozánky corridor. Cycle Route 8162 passes through Kly toward Košátky, Dřísy, and Křenek. The Elbe Trail passes through Kly, Větrušice, and Tuhaň. Popular organized events in Kly include the Kelský biatlon.
